Mind the Gap Zine and “Station” Map
For the past year, the Research for Social Change Lab has been listening to parents and service providers share their experiences of raising children (ages 0-12) in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough. A recurring theme in these conversations was the challenge of navigating community services— many parents described the process as stressful, confusing, and frustrating.
To help simplify this journey, we created this zine as a guide to the services available in the area. We’ve mapped them out using a subway map style design where each subway line represents a different pathway to accessing support. Each “station” along the way represents a community agency, organization, or program you may find helpful. Inside the zine, you’ll discover more details about each station. Since services and programs often change due to funding, capacity, and staffing, we’ve included QR codes for each station. Scanning these will take you directly to the most up-to-date information on their websites.
